Hyperthermia as Potential Cause of SIDS
Dr. David Jardine, a pediatrician at Seattle Children's Hospital and a researcher at the University of Washington, believes that some infants who pass away from SIDS may have been overheated (hyperthermic) before death. The goal of his research project is to find biological evidence that this is what is occurring. Dr. Jardine's research is aided by many families in King County who allow a small tissue sample from their baby to be safely stored and examined as part of his ongoing research.
